Who We Are
The Aviation Focus Group (AFG) was formed over 20 years ago and was originally made up largely of ex RAF senior officers in the Defence industry. Today, our Membership has now expanded to include the other Services, including others in the industry, and the only real caveat is that Members should have a broad interest and engagement with aviation and defence.
The AFG membership now stands at approaching 400 strong.
What We Do
AFG operates as an informal networking organization, fostering connections among professionals in the aviation and defense industries. We also play an active role in supporting charitable causes. As a small Charity, we partner with organizations like the Air League to offer young individuals short experience placements in the industry, including funding opportunities for those from less privileged backgrounds to gain flying experience.
Additionally…
we sponsor cadet expeditions from underprivileged areas through our support of the Ulysses Trust. Our members gather three times a year at the RAF Club for networking luncheons, featuring distinguished guest speakers from various sectors of aviation and defense.
